Ravish Momin, percussion

Ravish Momin is a versatile percussionist/composer/electronic musician currently residing in New York City. He has studied drum set with master-drummers Andrew Cyrille, Bob Moses, and Ian Froman; and has also studied North Indian Classical percussion with Misha Masud, a disciple of Pandit Taranth Rao. Ravish’s love for the sciences simultaneously led him to obtain a B.Sc. in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He has worked with pop-star Shakira and other luminaries across various genres. He is the also the leader of the acclaimed world Jazz ensemble Tarana which keeps a busy international touring-schedule. While not on tour, he works as a Teaching Artist across NYC, covering a wide range of subjects such as Snare-drumming, African, Middle-Eastern, Indian percussion, Early Childhood Music and Music-production (Garageband/Ableton) software.
