Marsha Heydt, early childhood

New York City saxophonist, leader, composer and educator Marsha Heydt is widely heard on the radio as well as in New York City clubs on a monthly basis. She can be found on her debut CD “One Night” on Blue Toucan Records and on her new release “Diggin’ the Day” (all originals) on the BluJazz Label. Her music is the product of her extensive experience in New York City, with diverse elements of Latin, Funk, Jazz, and Rock. Marsha received her Bachelor of the Arts in Music from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 1991. She also holds a Master’s in Music Education from the Aaron Copland School of Music. In addition to her work with Midori & Friends, Marsha teaches music regularly at several schools in New York and is the author of a children’s book The Adventures of Fredi and Her Lily Pad Band.
