Midori & Friends would like to and visual artist and illustrator Santiago Cohen and the art students of I.S. 229, under the direction of Gilbert Fletcher, for their guitar artwork. We would also like to thank the Gretsch Foundation for the generous donation of five art guitars in support GuitarFest 2009!
We greatly appreciate your support of Midori & Friends! Since our beginning 17 years ago, Midori & Friends has now reached over 160,000 students by providing access to comprehensive and high-quality musical education programs. Partnering in over 40 traditionally underserved schools through New York City, the collaboration among school administrators and the board, staff and teaching artists of Midori & Friends creates a school community encouraging of the arts in public schools which might not otherwise be able to provide a music curriculum.
Thank you for your participation in the 2009 Guitarfest Art Guitar Raffle. All proceeds will support the Midori & Friends guitar program, an exciting initiative that provides New York City public school children and their teachers with guitar lessons—right in the classroom!
