Mexico Beyond Mariachi
“Musical Voices of Mexico,” is taking place at P.S. 72, an East Harlem Midori & Friends partner school whose population is largely of Mexican descent. Children, adults, and the community will delight in the sounds of “Mexico Beyond Mariachi”, an ensemble that takes audience members on a fascinating musical journey from the ancient Aztecs to the present day. Other highlights include a brief performance by students participating in the Midori & Friends guitar program (with a chance for grown ups to join in!), delicious food, and parents sharing memories of Mexico and the immigrant experience.
