
Midori & Friends was selected to participate in New York City's 5th annual celebration of Immigrant Heritage Week, a unique commemoration of immigrant cultures and their impact on New York City. Hosted by the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, this celebration included a host of events taking place all throughout the City from April 14th - 20th.
As part of the celebration Midori & Friends presented Bridging Generations Through Music and Stories of Chinese Immigration on Thursday, April 17th at P.S. 42 in Manhattan's Chinatown. The event began at 6:30pm and featured original stories and artwork created by P.S. 42 students, highlighting their family history in New York City, as well as a performance by the Chinese wind ensemble, Melody of Dragon. Over 200 students, parents, educators, and community members attended this exciting event.
